Sema's Thai Cuisine: This Thai restaurant is one of the best in Christchurch. Bookings are essential, especially at the weekends. If they cannot seat you, then you can order their takeaways. It is open Monday to Saturday. It has a BYO wine license. Frank says their Beef Penang is the best he has ever tried! They are in the Edgeware Mall.

Coriander's Indian Restaurant: This is allied to the award winning Corianders in Rolleston and the newly opened (June 2010) Corianders in Hanmer Springs. The food is delicious, and all their dishes are gluten free (the naan breads are not). Reservations are essential as it is becoming more popular. They do takeaways at a 10% discount. They are fully licensed as well as BYO wine. They are in the Edgeware Mall.

Kiwi Bookshop: On the corner of Sherborne Street and Edgeware Road, this bookshop has a PostShop and a Kiwibank agency as well. There are mailboxes on the footpath outside.

Modeste: The boutique dress shop with some eye-catching garments.

Domino's Pizza: Takeaways and deliveries can be ordered through 0800 30 40 50, then press 5 for the St Albans shop at 72 Edgeware Road, or order online at www.dominospizza.co.nz, with online discounts.

Peter Timbs Meats: High quality fresh meat, very popular throughout Christchurch. Their Mango Chili Chicken sausages won New Zealand Sausage of the Year 2009. They also have a selection of dried meats, cheeses and some wines.

BP Service Station: This is on the corner of Edgeware Road and Cranford Street. It is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. As well as petrol and diesel, they have a car wash and a shop for emergency snacks.

Edgeware Supervalue Supermarket: Just a little bit down the road from the BP, this rebuilt supermarket has all the basic groceries and a car park outside the door.

St Albans Pharmacy: At 1073 Colombo Street on the corner of Edgeware Road. A full pharmacy and lots of gift ideas.
